Hey guys i'm having an issue with multiple monitors,
I'm using windows 7, and i have an asus 7970 matrix platinum.
I had a Dell 2209WAf connected via DVI, and a Samsung TV (don't remember the model number off the top of my head) also connected via 2nd DVI port.
In the day i generally left both screens on when using them both, but due to there positioning sometimes i would set "show desktop only on 2" which would put monitor 1 into standby, set it back to "Extend these displays" and it would go back to normal with desktop on monitor 1.
Now today i received a U2414H to replace my 2209WAf, i have connected it via mini DP to DP, and currently i do plan to buy a 2nd to replace the TV.
when i set it to show desktop on 2, monitor 1 goes into stand by.
Now here is the actual problem
when i try set it back to "extend" Monitor 1 does not come back on, it will just say "unable to save settings" and detects the monitor as "generic non pnp monitor"
or it comes back on without desktop and resolution resets from 1080 down to 640x480.
The only way to fix this and get back to my default setup, is to turn the monitor off totally, turn it back on and set in windows to only display desktop on monitor 1, and then reset the res to 1080p, then set it to extend.
So has any one had this or a similar issue ? i was thinking its something to do with connecting over DP ?

edit: i should add i installed "dell display manager" but even when set not to, it kept changing my Color settings when loading games etc, so i uninstalled it, not sure if this effects anything
