Multi Monitor Problem

Hi All

I have a pair of HP w19 Monitors on a PCI-E 6800 GT
Clean install of XP and latest drivers

When I plug the second monitor into DVI, its not detected by Windows or NV control panel

However - if I use the analog vga out and then an adaptor at the other end, it is detected, but because im using a splitter its a poor quality image and only NV Control panel detects it - not Windows

I think I need to select DVI input from the on screen disply, but this won't work as I can only pull up the OSD when the monitors displaying through VGA - switching it to DVI though the OSD won't save the changes

Ideas?

Is the monitor connected by DVI before you turn the computer on?

Different monitor, different graphics card, but sounds like the problem I was having... weirdly, reversing the dvi cable on the problem monitor fixed it for me. I'd be very surprised if that's actually what fixed it, but... worth a go?
