So after recently buying a new monitor, I've (after a hectic month) found time to plug in my older monitor to use as a second monitor to save me alt tabbing during games and upcoming GW2.

Although I have came across the classic problems, first off was the lack of a second task bar which I solved by using Actual Multi monitors free. Job Done.

Then I came across the problem of that I cant use the second monitor whilst I have a full screen gaming running on monitor 1. I solved this by some googling and searching on this forum by playing in windowed mode with task bars hidden.

I do find this rather annoying after being used to full screen for so long. I've asked around and have been informed that DisplayFusion Pro can sort out all my problems but that is over £10 on a program I'm not 100% sure myself that will give me what I want.

So are there any other programs out there that are free or cheaper to let me play fullscreen on monitor 1 whilst, juggling IM convos, web browser and maybe music on monitor 2?

Cheers :D

No software will let you do fullscreen gaming stuff and seamlessly work on the second monitor on the same system.

Game support will let you do it more seamlessly, such as windowed borderless modes (Full screen windowed mode basically). Most new games support this but many do not. most Source games support it, Guild Wars 2, WoW (And almost every MMO for that matter). Draggin a cursor out of an FPS game seamlessly would be useless anyway as you need to aim. You still need to alt tab out to break cursor focus from the game.

A MMO like game will let you drag a cursor straight out of the game into the desktop for use, WoW will for example.

Thanks for the reply, I can see why FPS wouldn't allow the mouse to change screens etc.

As long as GW2 allows it I'll be fine, missed the last BWE, but once released im sure that will be eating most of my free time.

Although what is up with Assassin's Creed Revelations and no window mode, tried the methods mentioned on Google searches but no luck.

DAMN YOU HARD COPIES!
