So I've plugged in a small 7" HDMI monitor into my system to run along side my main DVI monitor.
The first thing I noticed were:-
1) Some games (defined to run in full screen) decided to open on the 7" monitor even though the 24" one is my "main" screen. This was an annoyance more than anything and seemingly I could easily solve this.
2) When running games full-screen on my 24" main screen, the resolution of my 7" screen would change *1
So I've changed games to instead run fullscreen window borderless, which then seems to leave the 7" screen OK. ie: It doesn't change resolution.
When running multi-monitors, is it fairly normal to have to run window borderless to leave other screen running more happily?
Are ther any downsides I should be aware of running this way instead of full screen?
*1 : I had to create a bespoke resolution in Catayst Control Center for the monitor to run at its native 800x480 resolution. Windows doesn't offer it! Closest was 800x600 which is the resoution it seems to change to when running a game on my main monitor in full screen.
