which is best to overclock is it using the Multiplier or FSB I did have it with 21*191 max temp 65c now I have it 20*200 4Ghz max temp 56c it stable with both but which one will give better performance it dose run with 20*220 4.4Ghz temps on load 63c but its not to happy with that but if I drop the multi down to 19 & FSB 230 4.370Ghz its happy. So my question is will I lose performance by dropping the multi and using the FSB to OC or is it better to keep the multiplier as high as possible.

Cheers
OTH

i remember reading something about the cpu:ram ratio so upping the multi instead of fsb meant you could go higher, or was it the other way around.

higher fsb will help overall system performane (ie memory etc) and multi will just boost cpu so get the fsb to the highest stable setting then fiddle with the multi

sweet spot

when I use a higher multi such as 23*175 4gig "23 being the max for 950" I get a higher score in 3Dmark Vantage
but if i use 20*200 4gig I get a lower score, so it looks like I need to find that sweet spot betwen 20 & 23 shame I cant get 1/2 with the multi something like 21&1/2 *197 4.2Ghz owell as you have said just keep trying till I find the right mix, not that I can see it going much over 4.2. Any idea as to what the max a i7 950 can do?

Thanks all
