Have realised i'm not going to get very far without a decent set of ladders for this new house. I'd like a set which is split into 3 or 4 sections, allowing me to create a raised platform for clearing single store gutters but also let me reach up to the second story gutters if possible.

As such i think i'm looking for around 4.5metres as a maximum height.

Problem is there seem to be loads around at various prices and i don't know which are good, and given i'm relying on them to not collapse and kill me i'd like to make sure i'm getting something decent.

I felt like these looked good, but there's a real hard sell nature to the website and it makes me wonder if they're actually any good!

I know there are some around the £70 mark on Amazon but i'd say i'm happy spending up to around £150

I've got a 4 section 4 rung set i think from amazon for around the £80ish mark about 5 or 6 years ago.

I've not used them a huge amount but they've been fine for everything i've needed, the locking mechanism seems good and robust so i trust it to stay clipped in place. I've used them mostly as a big A frame but have used them as a platform to clear gutters and they seems surprisingly sturdy. I'd be tempted to get them from somewhere like screwfix maybe as at least you'll know the quality that way.

they are a big cumbersome to lug around compared to a normal ladder but the versatility is really handy for a lot of jobs.

Never know if videos posted on OCUK are going to be helpful or not. Luckily we're in a decent sub forum :p

Cheers!

Just need to make sense of the sizes as it keeps being listed as 1.95m but then also suggests total height of 3.48m. I presume the 1.95m is just at stepladder height.

Handy as Wickes sell it and i get discounts there :)

EDIT - Nope, Wickes don't sell that model sadly.

I presume the answer to this is that it'll be fine, but are they kind of ladders fine stored outside down the side of a shed. I assume so as you see they strapped to the top of vans day in day out!
