I could see it come in handy, however, is it possible to limit this to text only? Multiquoting images would be crazy.

That is one of the things that will be monitored.

Of course, if it is only one or two people I will merely give them a kicking, rather than removing the feature entirely.

If you are designing a system you do not negate the interface in favour of "does it work and do people like it".. it may work like a charm and people may love the concept.. but if it looks gash then do people still like it?

It needs to be nested really, or there are teething problems with the implementation ATM

The feedback is that nested quotes aren't wanted, but multi-quoting is good, so that is what was implemented.
