Multi room audio set up.

Can you help with guiding me toward a set up for the following;
Multi room audio set up in bungalow with existing ceiling speakers (2 in Kitchen, 2 in bathroom connected via hifi in bedroom) (4 in living room connected via Yamaha amp) they are not connected as an ‘eight’.
I would like a multi room set up controlled by room using the existing ceiling speaker openings.
I use Apple Music for the main source content.
Ideally it would be ‘smart’ compatible with hue lights.
Any help appreciated.

Amazon Alexa would do this out of the box. Multiple echo dots would be able to link together to give a multi room setup. The only potential snag would be using Apple Music as I’ve not had to use that with my echo dots. Multiple apple TVs would be able to do a similar thing but would be a more expensive option and I’m not sure how good the multiroom control is using anything but iTunes on a computer.

does this I would use the ceiling speakers with the echo dots?

You'd use the Echo dots as an input source for the existing amplifiers which drive the inbuilt ceiling speakers.
