I want to find a simple, not too graphic multiplayer for me and my two kids to play. Ideas include:

Worms
Micro Machines
Unreal tournament (99 edition) maybe turn blood off :-)

I don't want anything over the top as they are only 7 and 6 and it would need to run OK on a laptop.

Free would be fab. Any suggestions ?

FEAR :P

na seriously though try Tactical Ops or Star Wars lego or DC Universe, you can play co-op with xbox 360 controllers im sure.

I enjoyed Sims and Runescape as a kid but I think that might be a bit too advanced for a 6-7 year old.

Just think of any arcade game like Pinball and I'm sure they will love it.

I play lego star wars and indiana Jones with my 6 yr old. Really fun, and if you get stuck there are loads of walkthroughs on youtube.

Castle Crashers (not sure if you can turn blood off though?)
Minecraft
Dungeon Defenders

Depends what age they are really.

I realise you wish to use a laptop, but I would get a PSX for £10 (mod it if you wish) and enjoy classics with your children such as Crash Team Racing, Gran Turismo 2, Micro Machines V3 etc.

In a few years they will not want 15 year old games and want the latest Xbox, but for the time being they will just enjoy spending time with you having fun :).

Alternatively get a Gamecube (I say this over a 64 as they can be had for a fiver) and enjoy the Nintendo exclusives.
