Having been a gamer all my life, but a stalwart single player only, I've finally bitten the bullet recently and given online multiplayer a go. I've started with Titanfall, and then BF4 a few days ago.
You know what? I like it! I feel like I've discovered something new (daft I know, but it is to me) which is a rare feeling these days.
With Titanfall it seems fairly straightforward and easy to understand. I think it's also regarded as a pretty simple experience and a good intro for multiplayer, so was probably a good one for me to start on.
With BF4 - I'd read about all the bugs and issues, and couldn't even launch the game. I got messages about invalid licences and missing DLL files, and it took me several hours of faffing to even get it to launch. When it finally worked it started with a browser window that just totally confused me (Which I now know to be 'Battlelog') and I just thought here we go, what the **** have I done here
However, I persevered and somehow managed to get on a 64 player map (pacific storm I think), and after a few minutes something hit me. Excitement is too strong a word, but it was something approaching it. It felt manic, and pretty amazing to be part of the mass chaos that was going on.
However, I'm naturally pretty poor and just keep getting killed repeatedly as it's all new to me and I'm learning the ropes at the moment, but can anyone recommend any good links, or guides for beginners? I've had a look around and there isn't a lot of good info out there for complete newbs.
Also, I can see BF4 and Titanfall being even better if you get play in more organised maps with 'teams' somehow, but again what's the best way to go about this, especially as I have no online 'friends' boo hoo
Are there any sort of ocuk clans out there, or something beginner friendly that people can recommend for multiplayer virgins like me?
