Ok, so you're probably thinking what an Apple n00b. Well, that I am; however, I have tried to look for an answer to this and failed miserably!!

I would like to connect my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini to the same computer, but use different Apple ID's to update each.

Is this possible? If so would one of you kind fellows help me do it?

so connect the iPhone to one account then witch user and connect the iPad to the other user account?

(I'm using windows by the way)

Yessir. It is possible to have two itunes libraries in one user account but I can't remember how to do that in Windows. Alt-click give you the option to create a new library or switch library on a Mac.

I currently maintain 5 devices under one desktop account. 2 are mine (iPhone/iPad) which share the same iTunes account, the others are iPads belonging to family members and each have their own iTunes id, no problems at all and didn't need to confirm anything specifically.

I'm reffering to Apple ID's rather than User accounts on the computer.

I was hoping to use the iPhone on one Apple ID and the iPad on a different Apple ID as it's my girlfriends.

If push comes to shove, I'll just connect my iPhone to my Macbook and use that but it'll be a pain for music etc.

thanks

Greg

If on a mac... have two user accounts and put your music etc... in the shared folder

If on a PC... go buy a mac and follow the above :p (I don't know what to do on a PC)

Yep that's how I've been doing it. All music, tv, films (non DRM) in iTunes and when the various devices are attached each has a different selection to sync.

That is different to having two apple IDs on the same iTunes*

*I might be wrong, but it is easy to set up different things that you want sync-ed on different devices, but if the two devices have different apple IDs then I'm not sure it can be done in a single iTunes library.

Edit: Just re-read what you wrote... Are the two devices definitely on different apple IDs?

Yep two devices run under my AppleID, then I have my daughters, mothers, and fathers each with their own AppleID.
