Hey,

Yesterday my computer just randomly switched off whilst I was surfing the internet, and refuses to switch on at all, with no lights or fans or anything. Today I go to switch on another computer, and that doesn't switch on at all either. :(

I am thinking that a power surge caused this for both computers, even though both have surge protectors  Otherwise, I can't think of any explanation for the random failure of both computers at the same time.

I just hope that it hasn't damaged all the other components in the system :(

Any quick fixes/ other reasons would be appreciated :)

is everything else in your house working ok high power wise such as microwaves, kettles, plasma tv anything that uses a lot of power. Could be a earth fault causing non start up also check/try other plugs around the house. basically try and eliminate anything to do with power in your house before you start messing with your system. You can buy little plugs that you plug into the socket that tell you if there is a fault think they are only a few pound from diy shops

Some give more detailed info than the one pictured but u get the idea if u don't get any joy post back

Both in one part of the house? Check the fuse/breaker board, a high load on one circuit during a surge or outage can easily trip a breaker.
