As title - is it possible to set Vista to do multiple daily backups.

If not - what is the best, lightweight free alternative to execute multiple daily backups to an external hard drive.

Many Thanks

Pretty sure Vista has its system restore and previous versions thing enabled on install.
Although i don't like vista taking up so much hard drive activity and space doing it and use Acronis :D

You could maybe look into using a robocopy script that is stuck in the task scheduler. Robocopy uses incremental backups after the first run and is very good.

Just realised i wasn't clear on what I needed.

Vista backup will backup daily - i need something to backup 3/4 times per day.

Hey mate,

I'll hook you up. I'll send you some stuff via work email.

Have a look at SyncToy. Good little program but is a nightmare to schedule.

Instead, I use RoboCopy and then use Task Scheduler to create 3 or 4 times backups that happen daily.

SyncToy is a GUI version of RoboCopy but seems harder to set up through task scheduler.

Leave it with me homes.

Heard the above mentioned before, Acronis also allows you to set any amount of backups, certain time, per hour, day week etc as well as to do it only when pc idle or on startup etc
