Multiple displays from a netbook?

A work colleague has been asked to supply an IT solution that will, run 3 monitors, showing a different webpage on each monitor.

His answer is to get a net book and use a splitter cable/box from its video output to do the task. I said he'd need multiple video outputs but he's adamant that the splitter box/cable exists and from 1 video output he can power 3 different screens. Is he right is there such a thing? Or is at best going to get the same screen 3 times?
 
I am not familiar with the Matrox product mentioned above but from the looks of the features, it sounds like it should be able to do it.

EVGA also makes a line of USB Display Adapters that go by the name UV Plus + which allow extra monitors to be connected via USB. There are UV16 (discontinued but you still may be able to find them), UV19, and a newer USB 3.0 compatible UV39 coming soon for higher resolutions.
