Multiple fans on one header?

Hi - have been searching the net about this. Hope you guys can help. Asus Deluxe x99 mobo which is rated at 1A per fan header. Is it safe to use a 3 way splitter for x3 120mm fans rated at 20amp (+/- 10amp) each?

Also thinking about a two way splitter with x2 140mm fans on one header rated .26a (+/- 10amp) each ?

Well I'm using a 2 way y splitter for 2 x 120mm case fans on an asus x99 sabertooth, and it's fine.
I'll be honest though, I didn't even give it a second thought that it wouldn't be, so I'd be interested to see if someone more knowledgeable chips in, and if it's safe to run more than 2 fans off one header....

I ran 8 fans off of 2 3-pin headers on my Z77 MPower which it did without a hitch.

1 amp across a 12v header is 12W of power. For reference my FQ121WC fans pull 1.5W each when running at full tilt at around 1650RPM.

Are these numbers correct or has there been some sort of formatting error?

3 x 0.3A = 0.9A so sounds ok to me.

2 x 0.36A = 0.72A so also ok.

These ratings given on fans tend to be a tad higher than real world figures too so if you actually measured the current drawn by a fan you'd probably be less than those written on their labels.

If it goes over momentarily during startup nothing sinister should happen.

Thanks guys. Obviously missed out the '.' In front for the amp numbers. There seemed to be advice against it on the Web but they were older posts. Anyone else using multiple fans on one header OK powered by newer mobos ?
