Hi folks

Starting my mITX build and just recieved my motherboard only to find it has two fan headers...and thats it.

Im running a H100, an exhaust fan and was hoping to have a nice intake fan running too to maximise cooling. Case is a Bitfenix Prodigy.

Any ideas on the best move to make with such limited headers? Or will I have to sacrifice something? Or is the cooling simply too much anyway?

Thanks

You have a few options:

One solution would be to buy a fan controller:

Or you could go with a fan header splitter which would be OK for maybe 2 fans:

The final option would be with a specific 3 pin to 4 pin fan cable, you can connect your fans directly to a 12V 4 pin connector from the PSU, If it's ok that the fans are running at full speed.

Hope this helps

When i added extra fans to my system i had this issue so went with a fan controller and i haven't looked back it allows you to controll each fan direct from the pannel rather than with SW i know some people think fan controllers are not required but i like the way it works and how it looks for that matter :-)

I have just got a h100i and you can connect 4 fans directly to this and control them in Corsair link.

I have used fan splitters that came with my Noctua fans.

Input1 - two fans on the h100i radiator connected to a splitter

Input2 - two fans at the front of the case on a splitter

Input3 - fan at the back of the case

I have just ditched my fan controller in favour of this and it is much much better imo.

I am sure someone will shoot me down, but my temperatures, noise and ease of use have never been better.
