Multiple folders in Windows Explorer with iOS8.1.2

Hi

I recently upgraded my 5S from IOS 7 to 8.1.2. Previously when i plugged in my iPhone to PC i got the following structure Internal Storage->DCIM->808TIJFJ and this last folder has every single photo and video on the phone in.

Now, i have 97 folders under DCIM all with random photos and videos in which is making it a complete nightmare to copy photos off. I can't even delete the folders as they all have "Local Disk" icons in which cant be deleted.

Is there anyway to fix this?

I've got exactly the same thing with my 6. Makes it awkward locating the newest photo to transfer to the pc.
