Hi, So needing to upgrade my PC this coming year so I have a quick question :D

I have a GTX 580 atm. I want to upgrade to something like a GTX780.

Here's the question. Can I use the new GTX780 as the main card for playing games on one display and use the old GTX 580 to run browsers etc on one or two additional displays on the one PC?

So that's three displays on one pc, One display on the fast card the other two on the old one. I'm thinking it should be ok as long as I don't use SLI.

Cheers

James

I think you can plug 3 screens to a single GTX 780 - having the old GTX 580 in the PC is just another heat source and draws wattage.

I run 2 screens from one Titan (1440P and 1080P 120Hz) and have a browser open on one whilst gaming on the other. I use 2 DL-DVI connectors :)

That's what I do currently. Run two displays off the 580. Was just wanting a third screen and not put too big a hit on the new 780 while gaming.
