Help appreciated,

We have 2 internet connections in the house. A wireless network runs off one through a router too my daughters Pc too.

My gaming pc uses it's own - connection wired (faster)

This gaming Pc was then network connected via 1394 to allow file transfer to the other wireless Pc network when needed.

I Cannot now do this as i have installed Vista64 - not allowed now.

So i connected it to the router via cat5 lan cable file transfer enabled now.

Problem is my Pc now shares files as part of the network but tries to use the internet connection for the networked pc's.

I want it to use the other independant connection.(fastest)

But cannot see how to do this without disabling the network.

Hope this explains

Been searching for an answer for hours

Still not sorted buty trying a workaround
What is the best method for transfering files from pc to pc?

I usedfirewire = fast

Tring lan now - is this fast? -giving me a headache

Have tried via usb 2.0 hard drive transfer - times too long

Could i use usb2.0 to usb2.0 cable from xp to vista64

Starting to wish i stayed with xp and not upgraded to vista64 for all the hassles
