Multiple ModernUI browsers

Assuming you mean full fat windows 8 not rt...

I've got 'modern interface' ie and google chrome available (might need to tick a setting for it to work) via the 'modern' interface. So I don't see why not...

Having said that you do need to set ie as the default browser....
