Hi guys,

A friend has just bought a MSI A320M-A Pro MAX based system with a 3400G. The board has a DVI and HDMI outputs. Will she be able to use two monitors? I think she has 1x monitor with DVI and 1x VGA - guessing she'll need an adaptor for that...

Thanks.

Two monitors yes

Those specific monitors, no. Both sockets are digital and you can't convert digital to analogue (VGA)

Thanks! I was sure you could get DVI to VGA adaptors? I remember at work once we had a load of new builds that only have DVI ports on them, and our massive monitors were all VGA - someone just sent the Saturday boy down the road and he came back with a load of adaptors :p Sure it was DVI to VGA...

One of these?

That board only has DVI-D, not DVI-I which would also provide an analogue VGA signal with a simple adapter.

Search for a DVI-D to VGA active adapter and you should be okay (for basic resolutions and refresh rates).
