I've connected 2 monitors to my laptop, one via hdmi and the other via vga. I can get any 2 combinations of the 3 monitors working (the third being the laptop display) but I can't get all 3 to work together. Will it work if I use a usb to vga or do I need some sort of external graphics card. I'm determined to find a way of doing this using my current laptop. If I can get the 2 external displays and built in laptop monitor all working then I will be adding a third monitor in place of the laptop screen.

Thanks for the replies, the laptop is a Samsung R730.

I was guessing that the laptop only allowed a maximum of 2 screens including the built in one but its good news that the USB to DVI adapter will add the third screen that I want. I don't use the laptop for any type of gaming, its all office related work so the adapter will be ideal.

Malcolm I will have a look for one from the manufactures you suggested in my other thread and then if it works ok I'll buy my other monitors. Cheers for the help so far, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions...
