Multiple Monitor Setup...Help Needed

Right many of you guys on here recommended the Dell U2311H and all I can say is I'm glad that you did. Only down side is that compared with my old 30" cinema display the size is tiny. Picture is much better though.

My thoughts now are to go multiple screens...NVIDIA surround! I have one GTX 580 and I'm going to get another.

Does this NVIDIA surround work with only three monitors or would two work just aswell?
In which format (portrait or landscape) would two or three monitors look the best in, and which setup, two screen or three has the better resolution. In either portrait or landscape modes.

So with out this piece of kit I can't run a dual monitor setup using just the one GTX 580? I thought you could just pluged in each monitor using the two DVI ports on the back of the GTX 580?

Okay so, at the mo, two monitors with my one 580 is good to go. And when I get my third screen and another 580 I wont need to buy anything else.

Anyone got opinions on which way to run the screens, I want to stretch my desktop across the two screens, but I don't know which would be best, portrait or landscape!?
