Hi, I have BT broadband, the hub is in the Ground Floor lounge, but the wifi does not reach my new garden cabin.
I have an ethernet cable from the BT Hub that goes upstairs to one of the rear bedrooms to a NetGear 8 port GB switch, which connects to various thing upstairs, laptops, smart TV, Printer, NAS drive, etc.
I was thinking of running another network cable from the NetGear switch (via one of the spare ports) outside to the cabin and connecting to another NetGear (5 port) switch inside the cabin, which I can then connect to a laptop, printer, tablet, etc in the cabin.
Would this work ok, eg: can I run a network switch from another network switch?
All the ports on the BT Hub are already used, so can't use one of those.
NB: I have used a power line adaptor / extender in the past in my old house, but the bloody thing did not work very well, so am wary of using one of these again.
Or is there a better / easier way to extend my wifi / network into the garden / cabin?
Cheers
