Small thought.

I have an AMD 9590 setup here, Im rebuilding it into a setup for my lad, but I have hit an issue that I forgot about.

I have bene using various AIO setups in my systems, and when I had the 8350, I was using a single 120mm Alpenholm jobbie that did a great job.

I then upped it t the 9590 and that Alpenholm thingy was fine when idle, but as soon as you tried to get the CPU to do any actual work, the temps would shoot up.

I ended up putting the thing into my Mozart TX Case and using a dual 80mm radiator ( 120x320 ) Corsair 110i ( or it might be the 100i Im not sure, not important ) and this has solved the issue perfectly. Its been a fairly stable 32c idle and never hits over 45 loaded.

The thing is, that I am now putting that setup into my sons case, but there is nowhere to put the radiator?

There is however, a 120mm on the top, and one at the back.

I can put a fan INSIDE on the top one, but due to limits of space, a fan at the back will have to be external... Not an issue really... And there is also a 120mm at the front and at the bottom of the case for normal AIR-IN fans.

The thing is, I was really wondering...

Could I use 2 of the 120mm radiators on one of the CPU Heatsinks? - Are these pumps strong enough to be used to pump the coolant through 2 radiators, and a little more pipe?

Now... I have done it. it does seem to be working and it is definitly cooler than it was when I ran it with one radiator, however, it used to be silent, but there is a definite hum now.... Could that be the thing chugging away or is something simply humming that Im putting down to the CPU Cooler?

Any thoughts wil be great!

I don't know why but I'm really confused lol.

So you have butchered 2 AIO coolers and stuck them together so one has 2x 120mm radiators? How did you bleed it?

Well, yeah.
They are cheap as hell these days, plus I am an idiot who owns over a dozen PCs purely cos I am a bit of a hoarder, so its not like I give two hoots.

I got loads of bits all over the place, and I have loads of AIO coolers lying about, and thats why I decided to give it a shot.

In order to fill the thing up, I simply added my old resevoir from a really old Thermaltake Aquarius and that seemed to get the bubbles out, the only worry I had, was that Im not entirely sure that I can get the hose fully off, and so I have kept a good bit of hose on the rads and I used fuel line joiners and fuel line ( all seemed to be the perfect fit ).

Ok lol.

Well, radiators don't tend to add much restriction, so my guess is it's probably fine, But who knows?

What fan are you using for the other rad? Could the hum simply be because you have a faster fan on the other rad?

Im only using one actual cooler/pump wired to the CPU FAN header and one 120mm fan is wired as normal, to the Mobo CPU 2 header, with the 3-way bit, the other 120mm fan, is direct to power with a molex.

Oh is it? Then I should be peachy then?

I will check the connections again to tidy it up, and to be sure that they are not going to leak and that will be that.

Thanks guys.
