Hi
I have ordered the following parts:
4X Scythe GT AP-15 120mm 1850 RPM
1X BitFenix Spectre PRO 200mm
2X Akasa AK-FY320 3 Pin female to 2 x 3 Pin Male (Fan) splitter cable. (Like the one in the link)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-013-AK
These will be connected to my Z77 Sabertooth; Corsair H60 and housed in a Corsair 650D case.
2 of the Scythe will be used as exhaust fans ontop of the case and connected to channel 1 on the Lamptron. Another 2 will be connected to the Corsair H60 in a push pull configuration and will be connected to channel 2 on the Lamptron. The Bitfinix will serve as the air intake and will be connected to channel 3 on the Lamptron. Channel 4 will be spare and connected to nothing.
Questions
Now my question is that I heard that if you connect more than one fan to a channel you need to cut the yellow rpm wire on a splitter otherwise you'll get weird readings shown on a fan controller. However if you look at the link the splitter only has one yellow wire. Have I bought the right one? Or do I need a PWM splitter, like in this link?

I have no idea what PWM is as I am still new to the PC scene.
Also will my setup work as described, or do I need to connect all channels?
Additionally the Corsair H60 normally needs to be connected to the CPU fan header on the motherboard, is it okay connecting it to the Lamptron instead?
Thanks
