I'm wondering if such a thing exists - there's plenty of "5-in-1 Readers" floating around, but these support 5 different types of cards. What I'm looking for, and can't find, is a device that can write to several (the more the better) SD or SD-Mini cards at once (currently 512mb).

TIA

Can the existing ones not do that then?.....

I have a 7 in 1 reader, though we only have 1 type of card for our cameras here. All the different slots just show as removal drives, i can't see why i couldnt write to them at the same time, though of course its untested as i only have 1 type of card here.

Are you meaing one that can take multiple cards of the same type?.......

Don't think I've ever seen multiple slots for the same format. I suppose it could be done with multiple external readers and a USB hub but it'll be messy and expensive.

I havnt seen a reader than can read the same format multiple times..... i don't see the need for it..... though i'm sure you have one, hence the thread we're chatting in.... :D

As above, only way i can see is by using multiple readers.

CF to SD adapters are available but I'm not sure if there is a performance hit using them, that would half the number of readers needed but it's further expense.

Cheaper to buy multiple cheap readers i'd think.......

PC's have plenty of USB ports these days.... and its not like they need to be plugged in all the time.

Paid £7 for mine, and its been cracking since day one, and uses the same cable as one of the cameras, so handy as a spare to..... (quite a bit shorter then the one for the camera though)

The problem with doing that is the bandwidth is shared between the usb ports (unless I'm mistaken), so it wouldn't really speed up writing to multiple cards.
