multiple Xbox’s together

Is it possible to use the wireless controllers when you have more than 1 Xbox in the same room? Or would you have to use wired ones?

we had 10 xbox's all with wireless controllers at the last LAN so yes it's fine

I presume you mean can you pair one controller to one Xbox?

Yep. Turn on the Xbox and Controller, press the sync button on the Xbox (to the right of the MU slots), then press the sync button on the top of the controller.

You can also set one controller to controller both Xboxs with a little fiddling. Or you could when I last tried it.
