I've just installed Teal Temp to check the temp of my CPU following Crysis having a hissy fit all of a sudden and I've noticed that the processor (E4500) is running at x6 multiplier giving 1197.1 mhz.

This fluctuates every now and again to a x11 multiplier giving me 2194.50 mhz.

The machine is a Dell no no messing around in the bios for me.

Is this normal (speedstepping????) or is fuxxored?

Yep Intel speedstep, reduces the multiplier when the cpu is idle, soon as it's stressed the multplier will raise.

If you wish you can disable this by EIST & C1E.

Thought so but wasn't sure
