Multiplier is changing automatically

I have speedstep disabled
CPU ratio set at x22
BCLK 160
DRAM 1604
UCLK 3207

But yet when I run real temp the multiplier is fluctuating automatically, what else is controlling this on an Asus P6X58D-E

Should QPI Link Data Rate (Quickpath Interconnect) be taken off of auto

available options are
Auto
Slow Mode
5774 MT/S
7057 MT/S
7699 MT/S

c1e and c-state in CPU configuration should be disabled. Maybe turbo limit aswell ?

Thanks for the follow up it makes perfect sense to leave it enabled when the system is not under any load.

Should the QPI Link Data Rate be left on auto?

Definitely should be a sticky, im sure it caught us all out when we started messing about with bios settings and learning the black art of overclocking

Mate it has even caught out the big boys on Anandtech ones or twice so do not stress it. This is a good forum and the people are pretty cool, it is more a community and not a flame fest here.

coretemp reports my multi changing all the time and my clock speeds come up like 800mhz and sometimes 30000mhz lol so don't use that software for reliable cpu speed only for temps.
