Multiplier timings etc for opteron 148 and 146

You can use whatever multiplier you like. 144, 146 and 148 optys have 9x, 10x, and 11x dividers respectively. I think using a higher multi and less fsb put less strain on the CPU, could be rubbish though. Just use what suits your ram.

Whats the option to turn the FSB down?

You start off at 200x10 for example, keep the multi at its highest and increase the HTT (the 200 value, also incorrectly on A64 called the FSB) slowly.

As you're on A64 you'll need to drop the HT mulitplier (normally 5) to keep the HTT x the HT multiplier below 1000.

ah crap it... ive had the damn thing for 5 weeks and now someone decides to tell me the multipliers unlocked!!! have you any idea how frustrated ive been trying to get my 146 to 2.85Ghz on the standard multiplier... grrrrr :mad: :p

The multiplier is not unlocked, he is just saying to use the highest for the chip.

As said, its not unlocked, you have a range of multipliers available, but you can only go LOWER than default, not higher.
