Hello all,

I'm running CPU-Z for the first time to get an idea before attempting to learn more about overclocking and how to do it.

My multiplier on my CPU keeps changing from 6.0 to 9.0. This causes the Core Speed to vary from 1800 MHz to 2700 MHz (no values in between). Is it meant to change or stay constant (in my case at 9)? I thought there was a locked limit to the amount you could set the CPU to, and so presumed that's the number it stays at.

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600.

Let me know if I'm wrong :)

Thanks.

You do know your system is already overclocked if it's running at 2700Mhz? Default for that chip is 2400 :)

Yeap. Those figures were with an FSB of 300. I'm hoping to get it to 350 safely. Apparently that's easy with this setup.
