Multiplyer auto changing, little help!!!

ok got my 2180 gigabyte ds3l rig setup today, so far no problems wotso ever all games run flawlessly so i decided to have a little go at OCing, all i did was push the FSB to 250 and after boot i loaded cpu-z up to find this

i aint upgraded my pc in over 4 years is this a normal thing mobos/cpu's do now? or is it something else?

It's the SpeedStep powersaving mode kicking in at idle.

C1E and EIST are the options to disable it in the BIOS if you so wish.

depends wether you wanna save power and save the world

my machine thats on 24/7 i have it enabled , my gaming rig its disabled , i dont wanna save the environment when i am gaming

To be honest i doubt you will save engoug power to warrant it being turned off, if you have a quad or laptop i personally wouldn't bother.

Up to you though.
