Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Been looking for the accucel 6 but it appears to be out of stock at HK and after reading about fakes and looking at the price i don't fancy chancing ebay. Does any one have a reputable outlet that has them in stock currently?

One last thing, i purchased the frsky D8RII Plus receiver and module bundle, my understanding is that the bec on the esc i have chosen, Afro flight simon k esc will eliminate any voltage monitoring of the battery by the reciever/module as it is not connected directly. So by the specs I'm correct in thinking that i will power the receiver directly from the PDB of the QAV250 frame?

Common sense tells me this is correct but i would rather seek assurance by more knowledgeable folk.

EDIT++

Infact looking at the specs a little more closely i was looking at the module specs and not the receiver specs :eek:

Has anyone got the best guide to read about setting up the F450 kit with Naza V2, the definitive step by step best practise way? (which may differ from what maybe on any official documentation)

Sorry just getting info ready for when it arrives, I will be hunting around on the net in a sec

bearing in mind I dont have radio gear and batteries yet, this will be first stage

There's nothing to set up until you have the radio. It's literally just a matter of soldering the PMU power leads to the F450 center plate, connecting up the ESC servo cables (they can only go in one way), and sticking the flight controller to the center plate.

Yeah been watching a few videos, seems OK, just don't want to get in to an electrical wire mess, keep things neat and tidy

Just removed the h3-3d from my phantom 2 and rewired it back to pure FPV setup. I hadn't taken it out in months because I didn't like the idea of throwing it around so much with all that kit on board. I haven't done enough filming to justify keeping it the way it was.

FPV fun tomorrow methinks :)

Proper flights today with the Q450 - all good. One without the go pro - one with it. Will upload the video tomorrow if I get a chance - it was a bit windy but nothing major - pleased with no crashes and a definite improvement in flying ability!

Got a knock ont he door this morning and was greeted by the post man with this little lot

makes me wish i ordered the hobbyking lot form the same place, the pain wont be fully realised until i see the customs charges :(

Ive got 2 packs of 4 red ones coming from HK too, ill order a few more once im up and running but i don't think this will be in the air for at least another 4 maybe 6 weeks, i plan on ordering another 4 packs of each too. I was toying with the idea of getting some 3 blade props but the general opinion is they are harder to balance properly so decided to stick to 2 blade ones for now.

After munching through about 8 props in one session I ordered 40 pairs of Gemfans :).

At pennies each they are basically disposable. Not even worth the time to try and balance them, just swap for a new one.
