Done most of the soldering on the f450 now, attached arms, motors on arms, need to do some cable wraps, guess its installing the naza v2 flight controller next

My frsky didn't turn up today, should be tomorrow, can anyone reccomend a learning video on how to use this, or how to set this up with the F450? Going to have a skout on YouTube now

I've been using Youtube, there are a few good tutorials on there as so how to set up the basics, other than that, head over to the OpenTX website and start reading.

I think the below link was guide I used when starting out before modding it for my own use.

Important thing to do is do all setup with props off on bench. All functions should work in naza assistant software... and to check failsafe works turn off taranis and naza should indicate failsafe mode.

Before you start anything though I would make sure your Taranis is on latast opentx firmware and also your naza is up to date

It's getting a bit late in the year and the cold and rain are creeping in but an OcUK multrotor meet would be good at some point, even if it's in the spring.
I've been thinking that also. Definitely need one next year, planning on English weather in the summer is bad enough, let alone running towards winter. Looks like most people posting here are in the south too which is great! I hate going up past Brum due to the M6 traffic!
I'll be up for that despite being only a newbie! Plus winter weather isn't that bad here in Wales, it's just cold!
...The only problem is I have no mates (saddo :p) so I'd like to join a club or community or something. Hell, I'd even arrange an OcUK meet at Crystal Palace and a drink at a local or at mine afterwards if there are any takers.

Right, it's the new year and the weather should be warming up soon, not that winters here are cold anyway but lets get a meet organised or at least some ideas.

Some initial scanning of people's locations over the last few pages it looks like a lot of people are in the south between South Wales, Bristol, Bath, London and Essex. There are a few guys a bit further north too so maybe something within the M4/M5/M40 triangle for ease of access for all.
Any suggestions of good locations around there?

Something with interest for the AP guys to take pics of and stuff for prox guys to fly around would be good while also having lots of open green space. If the location suits I'll probably take my fixed wings along too so lets make it open to all aerial fun, FPV etc.

My initial idea was Uffington white horse, it's on NT land though so I'm not sure if there are people on site to kick us out or what their policy on flying is.

I have another idea but I'm just looking into it, there's a high chance it'll be a no go!

Sounds fun.

NT land is a no go by the way. You have to ask permission to fly and the answer will be "no" unless you have PFAW, good reason for the flight, and agree to only fly at an agreed time of day when there are no people around.

ARPAS posted something about NT about to enact a blanket ban or something. Not sure where that went.

A quick question for people who have ordered from abroad using Fedex, if you are charged import tax do Fedex hold onto your parcel until you pay, like Royal Mail do?

My parcel shows as having been delivered to my neighbour, but I've heard nothing about tax. Will there be an invoice with the package, or have I managed to avoid tax this time?

I'm still up for that. I'll even get my quad working again! (it's currently in bits)

Got the parts to turn it into a tricoptor for a bit but haven't found the time or motivation to do it so far. Dark wintery evenings aren't helping things!

When I've had stuff delivered by Fedex I've always had a separate invoice turn up in the mail afterwards, so maybe not.

Where did it come from? If the sender has undervalued it, you might have gotten away with it (<£35 I think?)
