Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

I posted this the other day, although valid point someone posted was that it potentially could put the stress on to breaking a motor

Got a CX10 nano quad off my sister as late b/day present.
What a brilliant little quad. Very very stable in flight, lot better than the two Hubsan Q4's i have. Has a little party trip of doing flips, either forwards/backwards or left/right.
Well worth it as an office toy.

If your Q4s aren't stable, there's something wrong. The Q4 is amongst the best nano quad going IMO. Are your props mangled?

Props are fine, its more to do with the motor mounts i think. There is too much play in the mounts on Q4 which doesnt help. If i can get them spot on, might hot melt glue them in place. Make them less moveable. The CX10 holds the motors rigidly.
I still like the Q4 but as is the case, electronics moves on so quickly with these nano's. Waiting on the first nano with FPV, reckon it'll be next year at the current rate.
Been eyeing up the Revell nano-hexcopter to add to the collection. :D

on my q4 I just pried the little clips on the motor mount under the pcb a little and it firmed them right up, stopped all play. My q4 was amazing to learn on and rock solid stable.

So, so, so much want for this

I will probably sell one or two of my other MR's to justify it. I will, really. Despite it feeling somewhat like considering selling a child, well loved pet or vital organ.

And what is the market value of a used spider hex or f330 clone? I mean, c'mon, by the time you take postage into account it's barely worth me selling them, is it?

The Raiju is cool (check out YouTube for the out of box performance!) But it's the RX122 Atom I am holding out for

Never sell RC stuff, put it to pasture, some components will come in handy one day

Yeah, looks pretty good. And much more portable too. Also, if 10 mins a true flight time, then that's better than most 250 quads. I did the see the atom but it's the carbon shell of the raiju that I think makes it look so cool. Also, I have a definite preference for the hex. I've been flying mine a lot recently since I destroyed my 250 and I find it much more stable and easy to fly. Less nimble, granted, but I think nimble and fast is a little beyond my skills at the moment.

Yeah, wind back 10 years and I would already have a heap of parts in the post but with a family and a 60-70 hr/week job I can't really get the time :( (I should add that having a family is awesome but boy it sucks up a lot of your time!!)

Think a lot of us know that feeling pal

There is a bloke near Wolverhampton where I sometimes get parts from that runs a part time business making and selling hexes and quads

Selling it as a bare bones kit just the frame and motors and esc or with the flight controller as well?

that looks decent for the price - noted

Camera is ok, but be warned it doesnt really transition from dark > light (sun) and back to dark very well. that being said its deffo handy as a spare. Concidering its around £16, I would be happy paying £16 alone for the VTX.

I am using it with the camera that came with my fatshark, you can mix and match.

Iv put a blob of hot glue around where the antenna solders on to give it some protection, hopefully wont rip this one off. My fatshark VTX is currently trying to be repaired by a forum member off a multirotor forums.

Done some more of my 250 rebuild this evening, legs on, motors mounted in right places, getting some of the power dist pads pre-tinned, sorting out the length of the wires, adding some extensions on although my gas soldering iron tip needs replacing before I can do anymore.

Nice pics above Rilot, that first picture is a corker

Was it the diatone 250 you crashed? how did you mend the leg? or do you mean the landing leg triangle things? I dont bother using those

Sadly, I don't have access to the MM, despite having been on here for aeons. They moved the MM eligibility goalposts ages ago so unless a kindly Moderator wishes to look upon my years of minimal, but nonetheless quality service in a favourable manner and grant me access, then sadly I will have to hawk my wares elsewhere!

Just for Mod reference. I'm not selling this outside of the MM! Just providing some information!

The f330 has an Acro Naze 32. motors (SK3 2822 1740kv Aerodrive I think), ESC's, and a D4rII rx, a load of 8045 props and a couple of batteries (boggo turnigy 2200mah ones) It's sort of tuned but I don't really fly it enough

I have 2 hex's; 1x 300mm and 1x330mm;

The 300 is fitted with sunnysky 2204 2300kv motors, Acro Naze32, D4rII rx, Emax 12a ESC's, Sony pz0420 FPV cam and a boscam 200mw vtx and then whatever props I have to hand. Normally 5040 or 5045 HQ Carbon Composite ones. This is tuned, running the latest version of cleanflight with a custom cmix for the spider config that works well. It's plenty quick enough on 3s for my skills and I get about 7 mins flight time on 3300mah batteries.

The 330 can run 6" props and is currently specced with a Xaircraft MiniX FC w/gps and OSD, flysight 600mw vtx, sony pz0420 FPV camera, ZTW spider 12a esc's, cobra 1960kv motors. The MiniX is also running a custom mixer for the spider config. It's not 100% tuned yet and really needs to be on 6045 props and 4s batteries for max efficiency. I haven't gotten round to purchasing these yet. This was designed to be a long range cruiser, hence the beefier VTX, bigger props etc.

So as it stands, no RC stuff allowed? Not that I sell any anyway, hoarding is the way forward :p

[cheeky]So if we can't sell it in the MM, can we sell it on the thread? [/cheeky]

To be honest, I generally prefer to hoard. I have though, recently bought a stupidly expensive shed, a new car and a greenhouse so sadly my funtime funds are looking rather depleted.

Looking around now to see what else I can sell to afford the raiju.
