Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

I was looking in Paypal history for this, but yeah it was around £20.

Another item you might want to look at is the camera/gimbal guard. The one that comes with it can be a bit fiddly to get on, and wasnt even connected when I got my P3P. It was lying in the box.

I got this. Its pricey but does the job well. Again have a look around for something similar and cheaper.

Review of it here

£23:eek: When my 3D printer is back up and running think I'll make a bob or two ;)

£23.99 :D

Yes its pricey, but when you have something over £1k you dont look at buying cheap protective gear. Well I dont anyway.

cool. Ill get one of those ordered plus i think ill get a gimbal protector for in flight too.

Any thoughts on prop guards? pros and cons?

My second lot of replacement motors arrived after my original motor started wobbling pretty bad. The first replacement did the same thing aswell so put i down to just bad luck so oredered 2 more but after messing I noticed ALL the motors wobbled / vibrated slightly depending on the speed.

Popped BLHeli on there with oneshot enabled and it seems to have stopped it although have seen some threads with issues with afro slims and oneshot so will have to look out for further problems.

At least I have 3 good spare motors now :D

A new firmware next week will improve things for Phantom 3 & Inspire users.

a firmware update will add five of DJI's Intelligent Flight Modes to those models.

These modes include waypoint navigation, point of interest (POI) flight planning and a Follow Me function. Waypoint navigation lets you set up a multipoint path for the drone to follow while you control the camera angle, and paths can be saved so you can recreate the flight again and again.

POI flight planning allows you to set up an autonomous orbit around a subject at an altitude, distance and speed you select. The Phantom 3 will fly the path keeping the camera centered on your subject at all times.

Damn i new they would add 2.7k pics tot he advanced the day after i bought my pro :(

Still cant complain, got a pro with a hard case rucksack and a spare set of props and 2 hrs battery use for £890 del.

I probably might ahve gone to that just for an advanced.

Shame the pro doesnt get 2.7k movies though, it would be useful.

Seems odd that they wouldn't add that to the Pro too. 2.7k would give you quite a lot of latitude when downsampling to 1080p for cropping without losing fidelity.

Well been on my maiden flight!

Loving it. Only on beginner mode so 30 foot out and it was getting dark.

Images over 1,280 pixels wide should be placed in spoiler tags as I've done for you.

Cheers

Can I re-ask my question? Anyone know of a good value RTF 250 class FPV kit for zipping around? I got the transmitter, batteries....

Rtf? I quite like the look of the Emax nighthawk 280 pro. Comes with oneshot ESCs, vtx (20mW and 200mW switchable) and camera all set up. My local heli shop (Fast Lad Performance) just started stocking it the last couple of days and have the spares too.

If you're happy to build, then a zmr250 combo from banggood is hard to beat. I just put one together for about £160 including video TX and RX, ccd camera, and hobbyking quanum goggles. Like you, I have a Tx, Rx and lipos from my helis, though I'll probably buy some more suitable lipos if I decide to keep it.

I maidened it in the garden tonight, and will take it to the club field at the weekend for my first taste of actual FPV flight.

No idea for the best setting. I keep mine on auto and turn the wheel till it looks good :)

There is a thread on 'pilots' for camera settings, and a video inside it showing how to get the best results.

I'll have a look for it and put it here.

You have a nice place to fly.

Not the one I was looking for but try this http://www.phantompilots.com/threads/best-camera-settings.51887/

Well the vibrating I had was down to a dodgy arm, Swapped it out and its ok now.

Went out after work for a quick go and it flies ok until I yaw left or right fast, It just goes crazy and flips all over the place. Starting to wish I knew someone local to help me out with tuning as I just don't have the time to do it :(
