I have a limited diet and have started taking multivitamins for men. This is probably a placebo effect but I don't feel as tired in my muscles and lathargic. I've read lots of reports about why multivitamins are bad for you but I think at the end of the day vitamins are vitamins however way you take them.

I think 90% of the bad press they get are from tree hugging don't want the world to progress organic eating do gooders :). I could be wrong though lol.

Don't most just pass through your system, to quote Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, making very expensive urine?

I take em anyways, something is better than nothing.

Your diet is more important than talking vitamins, get it sorted.

I take multvits with minerals.

Cod liver oils because I've found they keep my joints (especially in my back) a bit more supple than when I'm not taking them. And multi vitamins because I'm anaemic and don't have enough zinc too :p

A healthy diet, omega-3 oil and lots of Vitamin C. There are lots of contrasting studies on Vitamin C, but it's dirt cheap and I've not had a cold for the past 18 months whilst I've been taking it.

Nope, I eat fruit, veg, meat, fish, not the same meal but i would have fish at least once a week, veg (lots of) everyday.

Glucosamine & Omega-3 fish oils for running, and Berocca because I like the way it makes my urine bright orange. If I think I'm coming down with something (or more usually the people around me are getting ill) I'll take Echinacea.

I take multivits and fish oil, and glucosamine sulphate for my joints.

Same here. I don't have a bad diet but I just I might as well top up. The oils and glucosamine are for joints especially my knees after ops. The multivits are just because I can, your body will get rid of anything unwanted but I feel it helps to keep colds at bay and general (probably pyscological) well being.

What multivits do people take and what differences are there between say Tesco's own vs. Centrum or such like?

Yep I take them and the risk is so minimal unless you start eating 10 a day..

I have rough skin on my elbows unless I take a multivitamin and mineral. That clears it up within weeks.

Sainsburys a-z multivitamins and minerals.

I take Centrum A-Z.

However, I do make sure that the family and I have veg & fruit at least every other day of the week.

I am contemplating taking Cod Liver Oil as the benefits do look good.

Don't bother getting an Omega 3-6-9 pills. You generally get sufficient 6 and 9 in your diet and if you take more your body won't be able to absorb the Omega 3 it needs, so jsut get the ones that are high in 3.

Two of these a day, I love the stuff ;):).
