Munchkins

My 7 year old has now reached the stage that he can deal with some more mentally challenging games than Monopoly (which I hate).
He's already playing Chess, but I wanted to give him some other tabletop games to try, at least to keep him off the Ipad for a while.

So recently bought:
- Perudo, which is a classic dice/bluffing game and I regularly play with my own friends. Ace game
- Pandemic. Recommend on these forums and others. Turned out to be a little too complex and thus a bit dull for him. Have still to manage a full play through
- Arkham horror. Supposedly a brilliant game, that I'm certain will be too advanced for him, but it was cheap whilst I was in the US on business
- Munchkins. Wow, what a simple yet utterly brilliant game. My son loves it and even the missus likes it. If you haven't got a copy yet, then do it. Just bonkers cheap for something that appears very simple, but can become very complex quite quickly.

Lastly, I wrote an RPG set of rules a few years ago, which we've been using with his friends. At least they seem to like it.
