Typical teenage tribal behavior which kicks in at the onset of puberty. Difference was these teenagers were ruthless.
Anyone brought up in a shabby town will have experiences like this, either direct or indirect, of people starting fights with "opposing" groups.
David Cameron could have tried to stop it but he wouldn't have succeeded. Most of these behaviors stem from genetics plus bad parenting/peer influence. If you make it taboo to attack goths they will just find another group to attack.
This type of behavior is almost non-existent in posh-speaking middle-class communities because of, once again, calmer genetics and better parenting.
I have experience with both of these communities (went to posh middle-class school but lived in low-class estate). You will have kids with horrible parents who are calm and kind (good genetics bad parents) and, to a lesser extent, kids from middle-class parents who are always looking for fights (bad genetics good parents).

dowie, I work as a HCA in the NHS, and when I had a beard a few years ago it was quite fun to see peoples reactions. I wouldn't mind having longer hair if I could, but unfortunately I'm not very well equipped in that area.
ah fair enough, this guy was beard, long hair, tattoos the lot... he did smarten up for clients though
there was also a long haired guy in another department who occasionally wore a visible bra and nail polish/lip stick... HR didn't dare go near that one (he wasn't trans as far as I'm aware - just 'alternative')

I know that the first time I saw Delain live they finished with that song. And a quick check on setlist.fm shows that they actually did finish the other two gigs I've seen with them (one supporting Sabaton, one headlining) they have indeed ended the set with We Are The Others.

Dowie, we got plenty of people with tattoos, or beards, a few with long hair (but hardly any with long hair in a clinical role). But none got the whole package of tattoos, beard and long hair. Even though I must say I do like the old look of Anders Friden from In Flames with his beard and dreads

Do you live in USA? Didnt know Delain have supported them in UK, or Europe even. Have seen them 3 times, great band.

Nope, I live in UK (Essex). Delain supported Sabaton in early 2015 around Europe (I'm sure they were on the entire european tour). Think it was BattleBeast and Delain supporting Sabaton that tour. First time I saw Delain it was with The Gentle Storm in Islington 02 Academy in front of maybe 400-500 people. Next was the gig with Sabaton (or could been the other way around) and then it was Delain at the Koko in London last October or November? Supported by Kobra & The Lotus and Evergrey. I do like Delain but think they are leaving the symphonic metal parts and going towards a more rock based sound. But they are still a great band.

I was at that gig in Islington, really enjoyed the Gentle storm that night. Delains latest album was very symphonic metal, haven't listened to it for a while but definitely had a lot of symphonic elements going on.

a lot of hardcore football fans come from poverty backgrounds and probably a lot of them still are in those circles.
Celtic is much more tolerant of others than Rangers but they aren't perfect either. I don't condone their use of Palestine flags and I don't even think the ones who do fly them even know why they do. They were likely only ever told 1 part of the story and stories usually have 2 sides to them. Was even a celtic fan arrested recently for anti-semitism, again i'm sure plenty could also be arrested for the same who support a certain london club, etc.
Rangers came out and openly sad they would never sign catholics, etc back in the day. Jock Stein (celtic's most successful ever manager, was a protestant) was initially told he could go no further at celtic than managing the reserves but they backtracked a couple of years later when they realised they shouldn't let politics get into it, rangers still kept their policy for many years after that. they have always been more open to other beliefs and races than rangers (who still use nazi salutes, sing songs about paedophilia and killing catholics). i've even witnessed it myself, 30,000 fans all singing about killing catholics and singing songs about paedophilia, wasn't just a small group of them, easily 90% of them, everyone to the left of me was jumping up and down shouting out vile lyrics.
you can't tar celtic with the same brush. it's minority that is the problem there the more extreme fans.
A lot of them say this to vent their anger while some actually carry it out. I've seen it with some of their girlfriends and heard the stories through Police friends. You should have seen the hatred they had back in 2012 when Rangers were going into administration/being liquidated. "Taken over by Green and Whyte."
Celtic are tolerant? Both a lot of Celtic and Rangers fans are horrid. I remember the stories my uncle told me when he was on duty at many games in the 80s trying to dodge bricks from either side. Let alone the spitting towards police officers at the games.

You obviously don't know much about modern Scottish hooligans. Hibernian fans are up there with Rangers now. Celtic fans aren't as big an issue. Their club is thriving they are enjoying the good times whilst poking fun at sevco. They have no need for menace (the majority of them). The last big clash was when Hibs met rangers in the cup final was it? Only a year or two back.
Rangers fans hatred grows as their club goes down the gutter with them.
i dont think either of them revels in being uninformed they both seem to belive they are informed.
