Hi guys,

One thing I've noticed is after a session at the gym I'm all pumped up then obviously the muscles go back to there normal state then they seem to shrink every so slightly making my arms just feel like fat and no muslce. Its really weird. Is this part of the repairing process or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers

Its because you pump blood into the muscle and your only going to maintain the pump for so long. If you want your muscles to look like that all the time you have to increase your muscular size.

Don't think you understood what I mean't. I expect them to decrease back to original size after a work out but then they seem to shrink further and go more flabby than solid.

Morba - I used to have a protein shake within 10 minutes then food within the hour but I've recently cut out the protein shake, could cutting this out be the reason?

Ideally you should try and get a shake in side you asap after training. It should consist of around 50g carbs and 40g whey protein. There's some debate wether the carbs should be simple or complex but I personally use 20g Dextrose and a banana.

Sounds to me more like dehydration than diet or training issues.

You say that after losing the pump your arms shrink slightly. Whats the time frame for this? 1 hour? 1 day? 1 week? If it's quick then I put my money on needing more fluids, if its longer, then increase your diet.
