Muse - Put the Dubstep down and back away.

I know you can say bands have to progress, but they just haven't even come anywhere close to hitting the high of OoS. Real shame, that album is still immense when I throw it on now and again.

WTF??

Its just an album trailer lets not get too carried away just yet

Album trailer.

Surely I'm not the only person thinking that such a thing is ludicrous.

Mind you, it fits with how pretentious they've become.

EDIT: Googling, it looks like releasing an "album trailer" is quite common now. I really don't know what to make of that.

I'm not saying this is any good at all, but you can't just churn the same stuff out again and again. You've got to progress, otherwise you'll just turn stale... Instead of having the opportunity to turn **** :p

I'm not sure a load of turgid Skrillex inspired brostep is really progression in anyone's books though. But still, when the bandwagon is rolling why not jump on board and ride it till it ends up like, well, Korn's last album.

This.

Too many people whine about a band sounding the same all the time (Oasis) yet they also complain when they evolve?

I personally liked the last album and will be interested to see what the new one offers. Was the last album as good as the older stuff? No. Will the new album be as good? Probably not. But it can still be great music like the last album was.

On the bright side, the first 90 seconds sounded more promising than most of The Resistance and Black Holes and Revelations and that might be the only 30 seconds of dubstep on the whole album.

They could easily have taken 30 seconds from Undisclosed Desires, Hoodoo, Blackout or Micro Cuts and made those respective albums sound completely different to how they are.
