Hi,

I have tickets to see Muse at Wembley Stadium in June but I am having a bit of trouble finding a hotel nearby.

All the ones that I could find that are very close are fully booked.

Does anyone have any hotel recommendations? It doesnt have to be really close, a short taxi drive would be fine.

Thanks

You'll be in london, so within reason have the entire city at your disposal.

I just hope no one nicks my secret free parking space opposite the stadium :o

The tube would be far better, cheaper and probably faster in the long run mate, traffic around Wembley used to be awful and I'm not sure it's changed that much.

Don't worry bout it. Let fate take it's course.

We went to see Oasis at Wembley in 2000 I think it was. We had no hotel or any idea how to get back to where we were staying that weekend (20 miles away).

After the gig, quite drunk, we tried to find a nearby bar or club. Nothing. So we chose to go to a chinese restaurant instead. Somehow we wangled a free meal when two guys decided they didn't want to eat the meal they'd ordered, but then paid anyway cos they felt guilty :)

We then tried to find a hotel / B & B. Walked into a nearby park and found two tramps, drinking on a bench. We asked them if they knew of somewhere cheap we could stay. They said they would show us, but only if we sat with them and drank some of their booze with them. No idea what it was. QC or something, terrible, but hey, when in Rome . . .

So we hung out with the tramps for twenty minutes or so. Then they took us to this massive, expensive looking hotel, laughed and walked off. The bouncer on the door said it was full, cos of the gig obviously. We asked if we might go in and use a phone (we didn't have mobiles). He said sure.

As we walked in we noticed the bar to the right was rammed and looked great. We slipped off and casually went into the bar. After queuing, found out we couldn't get served without a room key. So, we joined a table of fellow revellers, befriended them, got a key number and spent the next two hours getting more drunk, and to make it better, the tab was on this guy's room bill, so we were drinking for free.

At the bar I met some old rock n roll casualty, who was spouting things like "Yeah, me and Noel went here" and "And then Liam said this. . ." I questioned him and he claimed to be Oasis' roadie, and knew Pete Townsend, Ronnie Wood yadder yadder. I didn't believe him, and accused him of being full of BS.

When the night wound down, we decided to look up the guy's room whose key we'd be using to get (more) drunk. We snuck upstairs, but his room was locked, and no answer. Back on the next floor down, there were what looked like banquet and conference rooms. We opened a door and a massive room with deep thick carpets was completely empty. Some cupboards in the corner happened to have a dozen or so curtains folded neatly inside. We made up a couple of beds and got five hours sleep.

Woke up feeling great, strolled out, got on the bus and went back to my mates mom's house where we were staying. She made us a massive fry up.

It was my birthday and is close to being the best weekend / gig experience I've had. Despite the fact Oasis were past their best really.

Oh yeah, the second gig was televised that night. We watched it. And guess which rock and roll casualty was was being interviewed onstage before the gig, unravelleing a guitar lead???

:)

Can't wait for this, am dragging my girlfriend along. Going to be great :D

Not bothering with hotels, just going to get the next train back in the morning.

There's no way the gig will finish by the time the tubes have shutdown, the last thing the old bill want is thousands of fans stranded in Wembley, you'll be fine mate.

Hope not and I doubt it... Wembley are pretty good with rail services and gigs on at the various places atm.

Not really bothered though... other options will be nightbus or taxi and there will be enough of us :)

I live in Stanmore but not sure if we have any hotels around here so book yourself into a hotel in Harrow. It's 10 mins from Wembley to Stanmore on the tube, grab a taxi at the tube station to Harrow (4 miles) and it should only be about a tenner. Only about 3 miles from Stanmore as well. The tubes will still be running as well so that's no problem.

After the Arena gig it was a piece of cake to get back into the city... Trains were busy but not as bad as it was after the Earl's Court gigs, when it all went a bit pear shaped :)
