Mushy Keyboard and Mouse

In the last week my keyboard and mouse have become mushy in response.

Also, Internet explorer is slow starting up.

Any idea where I can start looking for the problem with this?

Any usb slots filled that normally aren't? I have a usb stick that seems to interfere with my wireless mouse and kb
