My 9 year old is currently learning the viola, guitar and the piano. I have bought him a Yamaha PSR-E313 MIDI keyboard for him to practice on.
I'm now after some child friendly music compositon software where he can either type the notes directly onto the staves on the screen or record it via the yamaha via the midi, As I know nothing about music other than how to turn my iPod on I'm after some advice.
We've tried something called 'Noteworthy Compser' but wondered if there was a clear favourite out there. I've read about 'Reason' and 'Cubase' and the like but they seem a bit overkill and complex.
Any suggestions, remember it's for a 9 year old.
