Music Editing Software?

Does anyone know of any music editing software, that has things such as:
-Synthesizers
-Ability to change sample rates
-Some sort of time manipulation

Did a Google search which turned up few results.

Any help welcome!

Hi, are you using Windows or OSX? Logic is great if you're on a Mac. It has plenty of synths/samplers/loops with it. Flex time will handle any timestretching you wish to do.

Ableton Live is also great for manipulating samples and such.

You could try out Cockos Reaper and see how you get on with it. It can be downloaded from the Cockos website for free, unrestricted for a month or so, then it will ask you if you want to purchase it on startup. I think it's about £30 to buy.

You might also want to look at Propellorheads Reason if you're not interested in recording audio. A whole lot of synths to play with there.

If you are on Windows, I'd suggest taking a look at http://www.kvraudio.com/. There are a lot of freeware VST instruments that can be hosted in most audio editors like Live or Cubase.

I bought this a little while ago, doesnt have a synthesizer though, but there are a few free ones.

Fl studio is another one that has a synthesizer and more stuff, its supposedly good.

theres literally loads , they all do the same thing but they do it differently m try the demos and find one that suits your way of working

i cant fault ableton for what you mention in the OP though , works in windows and osx , is stable , has built in tutorials , is fairly priced (with good student discounts and 'lite' versions )

if you have a mac, then logic 9

depending on what sort of music you are trying to edit, then (if you don't have a mac)

Cubase (i have this): is more geared towards recording, and music production, say recording a band or choir etc.

Ableton (a few mates have this and use it for dubstep): is more geared towards electronic music and creating music within the program, as i said, a few mates use it for dubstep mixes.
