Music Off Ipod!?

Hi guys is it possible to get music you dont want off your Ipod? I accidentlly put some lame songs that were already in media player on!

Delete the ones you don't want from iTunes library then update the iPod?

Just a guess - I've only used an iPod a couple of times.
