Heya,

I rang a mate the other day and when it was dialing his number (just after putting the number in and pressing green to ring), I noticed that it started to play rock music before he picked up the phone.

Does anyone know how to get this feature? I thought it was quite cool/unique!

:)

None of your mates want to hear the same song every time they ring you, seriously.

Getting so fed up of calling my sister for this very reason :p

Every time I call my sister I'm informed some pillock feels like dancing. Drives me up the damn wall. Don't get it.

Yeah i remember having it on my Orange phone and they offered it for free! I think its cool! :D

hmmm, then why do companys have hold music?? Are they a bunch of chavs?

Companies have hold music so that you know you are still connected to the call. Companies don't have a custom ring when you phone them cause they'd look like idiots.

To give you something to listen to whilst on hold for a prelonged period of time, and to give you a sense of re-assurance that you've not been cut off.

Neither of which apply in the case listed here.

Seriously, it really is the definition of pointless. You never ring yourself so you will never, ever hear it. All you are doing is paying for other people to be forced to listen to music they don't want to hear instead of a ringing tone.

Why?

So you know your on hold , When you ring someone you know it ringing by the the ring tone, if you didnt have a hold tone/music people think they have been cut off and end the call ;)

had to quote this as its 100% right, why bother buying some music that you will never ever ever ever hear unless you ring yourself.

however with that said it defiently does give the person attention as it's unusual which i guess is what you want op?

I dont want attention, its for our company, not me, just thought i would get some opinions, but since our company is very very different and wacky, it only makes sense to have something like. I personally would think its funny the first time, but it would get on my nerves.

However, I have a supplier that when you ring, it tunes to the radio and you can listen to whatever is on the radio while you wait to be connected, which I suppose gives you reassurance that you have rang the correct number.

I have spoken with our provider and we wouldn't need to pay for it. most likely cause its tacky and a gimmick :p
