Music Problem

Hi all, got a really wierd problem with my pc, recently re installed windows as it just starting hanging on boot, now it boots fine, im posting on it now, but it wont let me open any media player programs? winamp, wmp and itunes all fail to initialise.

Curenntly listening to tunes on windows movie maker

Installed all (up 2 date) drivers, updates (SP2) and (maybe) codecs?

yeah, all sound drivers, sp2, dont think codecs come into it but ill give it a go.
