Guys I have a problem when watching movies on my PC

When I have the volume set just right for speach whenever an action part plays or music for some reason gets extremely loud, now i know its normal for the volume to go up a little, but im talking so loud that i need to turn it down to a level that when that music/action part is over i can BARELY hear the talking unless I turn it back up, then I have the problem of having to turn it down again.

Does anyone know what could cause this, or if there is an option to fix it? Or is it to do with the codecs/version of the movie im watching? most are MKV format. My speakers are USB (Logitech Z-10's)

Any help or advice is really appreciated :)

This phenomenon happens with stereo speakers when you are watching surround sound content as you don't have a dedicated centre speaker for dialogue so the speech is lost when the effects become loud. You can play around with mixing settings etc but you would be better off with a decent second hand surround sound amp and a centre speaker.

If you are using MPC-HC for your movie playback you could try the 'Normalise' function from the Audio options. This solves the issue and doesn't sound too bad to my ears, although i prefer not to use it.
